COMMUNITY began 33 years ago as the dream of 5 friends from college who wanted to create a place that would help people find their way back to God. We accomplish this mission by reaching people far from God, restoring God’s dream for the world, and reproducing this mission in others.
COMMUNITY is one church in four expressions: COMMUNITY Online, COMMUNITY Freedom, 3C COMMUNITIES and seven physical COMMUNITY locations. At our online and in-person locations and in small group gatherings, people encounter challenging teaching and transformative worship experiences that connect them to God, each other, and the wider world in new ways. Little by little, people find permission to be who they are, and a place to become who they were meant to be. As they do, their impact multiplies exponentially, and more people find their way too.
We are driven by:
Real Connection with Real People
Helping People Find Their Way Back to God
Restoring God’s Dream for His Diverse World
COMMUNITY'S Downers Grove Location is one of our seven physical locations with a 24/7 and a newly remodeled space and an average weekly attendance of 350 people. With a population of nearly 50,000, Downers Grove is a beautiful community located 22 miles west of Chicago. Convenient access to Chicago via rail and several major expressways make Downers Grove a prime location to live, work and play. Highly ranked schools were a top factor in Downers Grove being named one of the Top 10 Livable Cities for kids by Livability.com. Downers Grove has also been recognized by Forbes as one of America's Friendliest Towns.
About Kids’ City
Kids’ City helps families find their way back to God by helping parents confidently lead their kids spiritually, teach their kids to live generously, and to live in prayer. We are committed to helping the whole family grow in the three Connections of COMMUNITY: You + God, You + the Church and You + the World.
Kids’ City provides age-appropriate small groups every Sunday during the Adult services. Small groups are where children can grow in their relationship with other kids and adults in the church. In Kids’ City, children have an opportunity to engage in God’s word in exciting and meaningful ways with others and consistent leaders.
