Responsible to develop and implement a creative, comprehensive program of care, evangelism, spiritual formation and service opportunities for pre-school and elementary grade children. Must be engaged on recruiting, training, motivating, equipping and development of leaders and volunteers in the ministry.
This position requires the ability to lead department staff and volunteers in alignment with the church’s vision, and core values. Must possess strong administrative, spiritual maturity and people skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all programming and ministry for children ages Birth to 5th grade, including Sunday services, mid-week services, summer programming, and special events
- Regularly select and develop curriculum for a children’s Christian education for each age group encouraging spiritual formation and growth
- Implement children’s registration, classroom management, and security polices/practices in alignment with church guidelines and legal requirements
- Direct the recruitment, training, and development of volunteers as needed to staff children’s ministry classrooms and special events
- Lead and motivate staff in the operation of a children’s ministry by casting vision and providing leadership guidance
- Maintain a strategy for reaching and assimilating new children and families to be engaged in church, oversee the follow up for new Pre-K families, oversee events like parents’ night out, movie nights, help with outreaches offsite
- Oversee Family Experience, Host Team
- Assist in managing annual budget for Kids ministry
- Developing Community with the families of the children
- Function as a member of the church’s Pastoral staff providing pastoral care and oversight for children and parents as needed

About Church In The Son
Church In The Son began on Palm Sunday, 1990, with its very first service held at the Orlando Museum of Art. To our amazement, over 250 people attended that first Sunday. Our founder and Lead Pastor, Alex Clattenburg, had a vision to create a church where the Holy Spirit would be free to work in the lives of people, where worship could be experienced freely, and where people could move beyond traditional formality. With no backing from any organization, but fueled by prayer and obedience, we stepped out in faith, believing for God to do something great—and He did!
From the beginning, we’ve been passionate about reaching those far from God and sharing the love of Jesus. Through our ministries, we continue to see people from all backgrounds experience the power of the Holy Spirit and their lives transformed.On December 15th, 2024, Pastor Alex anointed Pastor Jonathan and Jackie D’Angelo as our new lead pastors, marking an exciting new chapter for Church in the Son.
