The High School Student Pastor is responsible for leading and developing the church’s youth ministry, fostering an environment where students can grow in their faith and build lasting relationships. This role involves recruiting, training, and equipping a team of volunteers to engage with youth, while providing mentorship, care, and spiritual guidance to students. The High School Youth Pastor plans and executes dynamic events, programs, and retreats that support the church’s mission and vision for youth. Additionally, they ensure the safety and well-being of all students, maintaining a secure environment for ministry activities. A key part of the role is teaching and discipling students through biblical instruction, small group discussions, and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and Lead Youth Ministry Teams:
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteers and leaders to create a strong, dynamic youth ministry team.
- Empower and equip team members for their roles, ensuring they have the tools, resources, and support needed to succeed.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, prioritizing communication and mutual growth.
Care For and Disciple High School Students:
- Develop meaningful relationships with students, providing mentorship, guidance, and spiritual support.
- Be a consistent presence in the lives of youth, off ering pastoral care, counseling, and emotional support.
- Create a safe, intentional space where students feel valued, heard, and encouraged in their faith journey.
Plan and Execute Engaging Youth Events:
- Design and lead impactful events, activities, and programs that foster community, growth, and fun.
- Oversee the planning and execution of regular youth group meetings, retreats, mission trips, and special events.
- Collaborate with church leadership and volunteers to ensure events align with the church’s vision and mission for youth ministry.
Ensure Student Safety and Well-being:
- Establish and maintain safety protocols for all youth activities, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment.
- Train volunteers and leaders in safety, emergency procedures, and child protection policies.
- Regularly evaluate programs to ensure students’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are being met in a safe and supportive environment.
Teach and Disciple Students:
- Develop and deliver relevant and engaging biblical lessons that challenge students to grow in their faith and understanding of God’s word.
- Use creative methods and teaching styles to connect with students of various learning styles and backgrounds.
