The Worship Arts Pastor will provide spiritual, pastoral, creative, and organizational leadership for the worship ministries of Liberty Church. Reporting to the Lead Pastor, this leader will guide the congregation in authentic, Christ-centered worship while building and shepherding teams serving in music, production, media, and creative arts.
This is first and foremost a pastoral role. Liberty is looking for someone who uses music and the arts to help people encounter God, respond to His Word, and grow as lifelong disciples of Jesus. The Worship Arts Pastor will lead weekly worship, develop volunteers and emerging leaders, oversee the broader worship and production ministry, and partner closely with the Lead Pastor to create cohesive gatherings rooted in Scripture and centered on Christ.
Requirements
- A great match will be a pastor before a performer and someone whose love for Jesus, people, Scripture, and the local church is as evident as his musical ability.
- The right leader will be relational and approachable, with a natural ability to connect with people and recruit volunteers.
- He will bring sincerity and excellence to the platform while remaining humble, teachable, and collaborative behind the scenes.
- He should enjoy working closely with the Lead Pastor and ministry staff and be willing to contribute beyond the boundaries of worship ministry when needed.
Why We Love This Opportunity
Liberty Church offers the rare combination of a healthy foundation and a significant opportunity to build.
The church is approaching 50 years of ministry with encouraging momentum, long-tenured leadership, financial health, and a congregation known for children’s ministry, relevant preaching, outreach, and warmth. The current Lead Pastor has served since 2007, while the previous Worship Arts Pastor served for 13 years—a strong indication that Liberty values relationships, stability, and long-term ministry partnership.
At the same time, there is genuine opportunity ahead. Liberty wants its worship ministry to become another defining strength of the church. The next leader will have the opportunity to raise musical and production quality, develop a larger and healthier volunteer team, strengthen the connection between worship and preaching, and help the congregation experience a deeper, more Godward culture of worship.
This is an especially compelling opportunity for a worship pastor who wants to pastor people, develop leaders, and build something lasting rather than simply inherit a platform.
About Liberty Church
For nearly 50 years, Liberty Church has sought to be a Christ-centered, biblically grounded church helping people become lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ. What began in a home with a handful of faithful families has grown into a healthy congregation of approximately 700 people with a strong reputation throughout the community for children’s ministry, relevant biblical preaching, outreach, and genuine congregational warmth.
Liberty will celebrate its 50th anniversary in October 2026, entering this next season from a position of health and stability. The current Lead Pastor has served since 2007, and the previous Worship Arts Pastor served for 13 years, reflecting a church culture that values healthy relationships, longevity, and meaningful partnership among its leaders. The church is financially strong, attendance and giving have been trending upward, and Liberty is nearing the payoff of its current worship center, positioning the church to become debt-free.

About Spring Lake
Liberty Church is located in Spring Lake, North Carolina, serving a unique and growing region that includes Spring Lake, Anderson Creek, Cameron, Sanford, Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, and surrounding communities.
The area combines rural and residential communities with convenient access to larger population centers. Fayetteville is approximately 15 minutes south of the church, while the growing Cary and Raleigh suburbs begin approximately 40 minutes to the north. The congregation and community are also significantly influenced by nearby Fort Bragg, creating a strong military presence and bringing both tremendous ministry opportunity and a somewhat transient population.
The region is particularly attractive to young families. Liberty’s congregation is multigenerational but trends slightly toward adults ages 30–45, with many families raising preschool and school-aged children. The church also has a significant connection to the local homeschool community, hosting a co-op that serves nearly 300 families each week.
For those who enjoy exploring the region, Liberty is situated within reach of much of what makes North Carolina an attractive place to live, approximately two and a half hours from the coast and four hours from the mountains.
