Description
About Hill Country Bible Church
In 1985, God gave 17 people in Austin, Texas, a dream to start a major faith movement in their community. Already committed followers of Christ involved in a local church, the group sensed God’s call to begin a new church that used the best of both traditional and innovative approaches to ministry and outreach. Their goal was to create a Bible-based church that was free from denominational limitations but responsible for working in conjunction with and seeking input from a local association of like-minded churches. From the beginning, their priority was people – not programs.
Hill Country Bible Church is a welcoming community marked by God’s grace and committed to sharing the gospel’s good news with those around them. God has given the church a rich and vibrant history, filled with His favor and faithfulness, along with a compelling vision of becoming a movement of changed lives. HCBC accomplishes this by multiplying disciples, planting churches, and launching multi-site locations that are spiritually vibrant and strategically located.
To help accomplish its mission, Hill Country Bible Church has responded to God’s call to be a church-planting movement of missionally-minded churches. By His grace, 38 autonomous churches have been planted since 1996.
HCBC is deliberative and influential, keeping people and authentic relationships their highest priority. Their weekend services are warm and engaging– providing opportunities for people to connect with God and others. The teaching is strong, biblical, and practical. Hill Country is both a multi-generational and multi-cultural church. HCBC greatly influences Austin and beyond through its support and leadership.
